Concrete Polishing

construction workers doing concrete polishing
Most people have seen what a properly polished concrete surface actually looks like. Yet very few people know of the whole process that goes into obtaining that shiny look. This is something that you can do surfaces that are currently being built. This is also something that you can apply to an older surface to actually rejuvenate it completely. There are usually a couple of frequent questions that we are going to get from pretty much all of our potential clients. If you are one of them and you are reading this we hope that these answers will help you out quite a bit!

Do You Always Have To Go Through The Whole Process?
This is one of the more common questions that we get and we really think there are a couple of right answers. If you want to actually polish a concrete surface you are going to have to go through the process. There is really not much else that you are going to be able to do in that regard. That being said there are certain chemicals that can be applied to the concrete to give it a polished like look. That is something that without a doubt is very different from the polishing procedure.

Can Any Type of Concrete Be Polished?
We usually get this question with regard to older concrete surfaces. The true answer would be yes, any type of concrete can potentially be polished. Now, would it be worth just polishing every type of concrete surface? Maybe not, maybe in some cases, the surface is going to need a lot more work or even a major overhaul. We can certainly help you through that decision making process. So that at the end of the day you are investing your money the right way and obtaining top results.

What Type of Finish Can I Expect?
Everyone thinks of polished concrete as this shiny area that is usually going to be pretty smooth even when it looks like the concrete has some aggregate added onto it. If you are expecting that type of look when this process is done you are going to be pretty pleased. That is exactly the type of finish that we are going to be looking to provide. Of course, there are certain variations that can be made. To accommodate the floor to what you may be looking to obtain. For the most part, though, smooth and shiny floors seems to be a pretty accurate description.

Is This Process Going To Take A Long Time?
That really depends on what a long time is to you. For the most part, to ensure that the concrete surface is fully settled in it could take up to 3 days. If we are talking about a driveway or something that is around that particular size. If that would seem like a long time then the answer is yes. If that does not seem like a long time then the answer is no. Obviously it also depends on how large of an area we are working on at the time.
